CSRD and VSME: where should a small business start?
Even if CSRD does not apply to you directly, you will be asked. Large customers and banks expect data from their suppliers.

The EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) mainly applies to large companies, and its scope and timeline have changed more than once. Smaller firms are not off the hook: large customers report on their whole value chain, and they ask their suppliers for the data.
VSME is the voluntary sustainability reporting standard for small and medium-sized enterprises. It is proportionate, readable, and answers exactly the questions that large partners and lenders ask.
- Collect a year of energy, fuel and material invoices.
- Ask your largest customers which data they expect, and in what format.
- Name an owner and plan a yearly update, not a one-off project.
Our software produces CSRD and VSME compatible report formats, so answering a supplier questionnaire takes days, not weeks.
